If you’re planning on going skiing, you need to know exactly what you need to bring, to ensure that your trip is as enjoyable as it can be!

  • Bring multiple pairs of underwear and especially ski socks. Your feet will most likely be inside your ski boots for many hours every day, so the ability to change into a fresh pair of socks each day will be more than welcome.
  • When you’re skiing, you’ll want to be wearing a baselayer set, which is comprised of both a top and pants. You’ll want to bring at least two sets with you, so that you still have a set to wear whilst the other is being washed.
  • With you being out and about, undertaking exercise for multiple hours at a time, you will need to wash your clothes. You may have access to a washing machine, which is great – but just in case you don’t, bring travel wash!
  • It’s a common thought that you won’t need to bring sun cream when you go skiing – it’s winter after all! Unfortunately, the effect of sunlight is increased when reflected off the snow – so you’ll definitely need it! Lip balm would also be useful to counter dry lips.
  • In addition to your baselayers, you’ll also need to bring the rest of your ski gear, of course! Ski trousers, ski boots, goggles, gloves and a helmet are all needed – as well as any extra layers to keep you warm too!

Main-body-template

  • To save luggage room, wear your ski jacket and walking boots whilst you’re on the plane. You might get a few weird looks, but you’ll be suitably dressed as soon as you land – and besides, more pockets equals a lot of space to store your passport, wallet and more!
  • Bring a beanie. Although whilst you’re on the slopes, a helmet is preferred, but when you’re just socialising and relaxing between ski sessions, a beanie is a great way to keep your head (and ears) warm!
  • You won’t be spending too much time in ‘normal’ clothes, so pack as few as possible. Make sure to check whether or not your accommodation or the resort that you’re visiting has a swimming pool, and if so, bring your swimming gear!
  • Instead of being restricted to drinking that much-needed hot drink in a nearby restaurant, if you bring a flask you can choose where you have it, without losing that heat.
  • As there are so many things to bring, you’ll need to try and create as much space as possible. Try rolling your clothes instead of folding!
  • This is a general tip for anyone that is travelling abroad: make sure that you bring your wallet containing your credit/debit card and foreign currency, as well as a plug adaptor! You may be provided with some toiletries, but don’t forget to bring your toothbrush as well as any other items which you would rather bring than borrow – such as shampoo.
