It is not until very recent that I started track running in the local club at my place. It has been years since I last ran on the track. Running on the tracks again was an enthralling experience for me but it came with a lot of hard work and constant determination to be back to my original form.

I made a firm decision that I would be following mountain biking, track running, circuit classes as a part of my weekly routine. I want myself to be constantly motivated by the new challenges.

Following are some of the things which I have learned about track running:

I never wanted to go for a session willingly. I always have some kind of excuse which supported my reason of not going to the tracks. Sometimes I had the excuse of not feeling confident enough or not being fresh or well enough.

I often feel nervous about going to the tracks. The mere fact that I would be just going for training and not racing didn’t please me enough to persuade me to the tracks. I had to pull up myself to get into the car and drive to the session. As soon as I reached the tracks, I felt overjoyed seeing all like-minded people with correlated feelings. The session was initiated by laughter, giggles and rounds of experiences shared.

A good track session needs a well-trained coach who will help you to attain your untapped potential.

I have always been very competitive which helps me to push myself against my abilities. It’s always good to have range of abilities at the tracks which pumps everyone to perform best to their levels.

I never allowed my age to conquer my running spirit. Even though I may age, I have constantly evolved my body to conquer greater lengths. The first few strides of my race have always been very stiff but after I stretch my stride, I can run fluently at greater distances. I always gain from the muscles I don’t use in other training sessions.

At the end of each running session, I feel drained and tired to the core but at the same time, I feel elated too. The sessions always end at a good note following which gives me a sense of accomplishment. I never had this feeling that it was a bad thing to do.

I am greatly convinced that not only track running but running faster in general adds a lot of benefit to the whole body. My joints and muscles will not wear and tear out with passing time. A constant sense of purpose and motivation will be the driving force in my life which won’t allow any negative feelings to surface on the horizon.
