As well as all of the necessities, it can also be very beneficial to bring along a number of accessories whilst you’re out snowboarding. Here are eight of our favourites!

#1 - Snowboard Tool: A snowboard tool is something which you may not always need but it will definitely come in handy for both you and your friends at some point. Without it, loose bindings would need to be tightened and repaired at a tool station or you’d have to borrow someone else’s tool. Less time spent trying to repair equals more time to snowboard!

#2 – Spare Goggle Lens: Weather conditions are always changing, so having different lenses for different conditions allows you to be out for longer, without having issues seeing what is in front of you.

#3 – Snowboard Lock: This lock does exactly what you would expect: it locks your snowboard to the ski rack. This provides you with peace of mind knowing that it is safe – potentially saving you a lot of money and time!

#4 – Face mask / balaclava: Protect your face and neck from the snow and the cold, or from the sun (if you have a lightweight alternative)!

#5 – Head Torch: You may think that a head torch isn’t really necessary, but it’s always a nice, small piece of kit to pack – just in case!

#6 – Helmet Camera: For those of you that want to capture footage which is as authentic as possible, to give the viewer the feeling of experiencing it for themselves – helmet cameras really are the way to go. GoPro’s have grown massively in popularity over the last few years, with an example of the footage that can be captured below:

#7 – Spare batteries or a charger: If you want to capture photographs, record videos, listen to music or just make a phone call – it would definitely be beneficial to bring spare batteries or a portable charger with you. Battery life varies with temperature, so your gadgets will not ‘live’ as long as they tend to usually, especially in very cold temperatures. Hand warmers could be used to try and limit the temperature drop – which might help your battery life!

#8 – Smart Gloves: If you want to keep your hands warm but also use your phone, you typically have to decide between one or the other as touch screen devices are not compatible with the materials used by standard gloves. Smart gloves however, let you use your phone whilst your hands are shielded, thanks to the conductive material at the fingertips – allowing you to make that phone call, pick a new song or take a photograph, much easier.
