Staying fit and in shape comes to you not just by hitting the gym or following a particular routine. There needs to be consistency, if you are looking for some long-term benefits. Come the vacations and all our habitual workouts and exercises go for a toss. There needs to be a proper plan that should be implemented while you are on a vacation spree. This would mean avoiding any kind of overeating and binging-into-big-meals. You can look as fit as you were, even after your holidays.
All you need to do is embrace your surroundings and improvise with your routinely to-do-exercises even when you are far away from your home, with barely any gym equipment around. Also, the idea of staying fit and healthy should not be seasonal. If you think staying fit and working out helps you maintain the balance which keeps you calm and sorted in life, then try and stay fit and active in general too. Believe it or not, but 30 minutes of cycling every day or diving into that pool for just one lap of swimming is all that will keep you going. This helps in metabolic conditioning of your body too. Hence, to keep your metabolism up, you need some activity in order to cut down all the fat you have gained from the pack of delicious food you have been eating and gorging into during your holidays. Keep in mind the following points and experience the joy of staying fit and in shape.
Condition your Body Weight
Conditioning your body weight is not a big task, even if there is not enough gym equipment around. There are numerous ways through which you can achieve a good balance between maintaining your fitness and enjoying your holidays.
A Pull-up routine is sure to give you amazing results. You just need a comfortable spot to practice this particular exercise. A door frame or door itself can be useful. You can look out for a sturdy tree branch too. This helps in toning your back, arms, and chest. When doing pull-ups, remember that your palm should face towards you, while you invert your grip. It is also called chin-ups and improves your arm muscles, helping you get those biceps.
Another effective exercise to build your arms, chest, shoulders, and core is –Press-ups.
For building your legs, back and glutes you can simply stick to performing squats or just go for plyo squats, i.e., jumping up each time you come up. These are easy to perform. Sweat it out by doing some alternate set of Crunches. These will help in cutting down the belly fat.
Triceps dip makes it easy to tone up the muscles on the backside of your upper arm. You do not require any equipment for this. Sit on a chair and slowly move your rear and legs away from the chair, with your hands taking the support of the chair itself. Now dip down and come up. That is it!
Eat Right
Following a few simple tips can reap some effective health benefits even when you are holidaying. All of us love relaxing and devouring some lip smacking dishes during our holidays. However, going for alternatives such as salads, fresh fruits, nutritional supplements, helps to keep your fitness goals intact.
Avoiding all kinds of aerated drinks and switching to whole foods instead of meatier dishes and sweets that increase your carbohydrate intake too helps in keeping you healthy and in shape.
Switch to some Cardio
We have always been told to take the stairs and skip the elevator by our Gym instructors, etc. It is the best cardio one can look for.
Getting a chance to swim during your vacations is sheer bliss! This too is one of the best cardio exercises one can think of. It is the easiest and a fun way of burning calories.
Early morning swimming sessions are the best. You feel fresh throughout the day. Such kind of activities also stimulates your senses, giving you a healthy mind and body.
Running along the seaside, barefoot is meant to be really good and is seen as a workout that stimulates your cardio system.
Just eat well, enjoy your workout routines, and sweat it out right!
