Ski clothing doesn’t make it easy to spot the small details, especially not an engagement ring. But according to close friends, singing and acting star Justin Timberlake asked his girlfriend of four years, actress Jessica Biel, to marry him while they were enjoying a festive ski holiday.

Fellow skiers and snowboarders with eagle eyes might well have spotted Jessica’s shiny new ring when she removed her ski gloves… perhaps in an après-ski bar – but no-one had confirmed if this is the case or not. However, a ski resort would seem like the perfect place for Justin to pop the question to his long-term love.

Loved up outdoors couple Timberlake and Biel

The couple are keen outdoors people and especially enjoy snowboarding together. The trip to Big Sky Resort in Montana, late last month was the ideal setting for Justin to get down on one knee. A source on an American newspaper said: "Justin knows how much she loves snowboarding and the mountains, so it was the perfect place.”

According to the rumours, the Cry Me a River singer asked Jessica to marry him while at the top of the mountain. Awww. How romantic!

Timberlake, 30, and Biel, 29, first started dating in 2007 and are well known to enjoy sporty and outdoor activities together.

More sporty places to get down on one knee

Here at Outdoor Look we have heard of other marriage proposals in sporty situations. One couple became engaged while taking part in the Mont Blanc Marathon. They had met while on a marathon running training course.

One loved-up Scottish hiker got down on his bended knee to ask for his loved one’s hand in marriage at the top of a Scottish Munro. She said yes and six months later they were married on top of another hill.

An end-of-season Scottish triathlon was also the place where a keen triathlete asked his triathlon-loving girl to marry him. He popped the question before the start of the event so that she would have “something lovely to think about while pushing herself through the race,” the groom-to-be said later.
