  • Many sealed foods are filled with air which bulk up the packet, so releasing the air by poking a hole and re-sealing it makes it much more compressible and allows it to be fitted into smaller areas.
  • Whilst you may have limited space in the main area of your rucksack, don’t forget to also use any smaller pockets as best you can, even if it means rearranging and reorganising your bag.
  • Tea and coffee are both mainly created using hot water, but you don’t need a kettle to enjoy them! Using instant coffee, you can create chilled coffee in a matter of minutes, whilst you can create sun tea simply by leaving a tea bag in a water bottle whilst leaving it exposed to the outdoors!
