A great camp kitchen works well when you are frequently camping out as it gives you a sense of commune when you are cooking with your friends and family out in the nature. It is necessary that you plan the camp kitchen setting smartly so to avoid any mishaps and keep things in order.
Here is a list of necessary items that you must put in place to create a perfect camp kitchen setting:
Tarp Kitchen Shelter
This is the best thing to use for protection against natural elements. Putting up a tarp shelter is a skill in itself and therefore must be done by those who have prior experience. Finding the location to set up a tarp is the most crucial factor. Generally, it is best to put up your tarp just outside the main tent. Most of the times people set the shelter themselves, however, there are tarp kits available that are easy to set up and have instructions on them.
Windbreak
Protecting the stove from the wind is extremely important for the safety of the shelter. Windbreak helps with this effectively by blocking off areas that are most exposed to the wind. Also, you get to save a lot of cooking fuel and prevent kids from roaming around the area where you are cooking the food. For proper setup, the gates should be assembled in the right manner and the material should face round in the correct direction.
Gas Camping Stove
Choose the right stove with the required number of hobs, depending upon the number of people at your camp. Mostly, a two hob stove works well on a family camping trip. Also, the gas cylinder you choose is crucial as different stoves work on different gas fuels. You should know whether to use a propane gas cylinder or a butane gas cylinder. Keeping in consideration the gas pricing and cooking efficiency, you must buy the most suitable one. It is necessary that the surface you will be keeping the stove on is levelled, to ensure safety while cooking.
Fire Pit
Though optional, this is a very good way of cooking as it is more enjoyable and interesting to cook on it rather than on a gas stove. A BBQ and tripod setup works well when you want to roast and grill things. Just make sure that your tarp is high enough for you to safely cook under it.
Kitchen Platform
A levelled platform is necessary for you to keep your stove, hot pans and serve food. You get a lot of kitchen table designs with some having windshield as an added bonus. You can store pans, food tins and also a large garbage bag, for which there is a separate compartment.
Kitchen Storage Kit
This is necessary to keep cups, cutlery, plates, glasses, tea towels, garbage bag rolls, kitchen foil and washing up sponges and many other things. This kit makes transporting things easy.
Cold Box
To transport the frozen food items and keep perishable products, you will require an icebox. You should make sure that you buy a cold box that is not powered so that you can take it anywhere you want and do not have to work about the power source. However, you can buy a powered in case you want to keep certain items that need to be kept cold at a certain temperature. These electric cold boxes can be plugged into your car’s 12V socket.
Wash Up Kit
Packing up a washing bowl would save you a lot of time and effort you have to put in to find a washing area for your utensils. A collapsible washing kit will just do fine if you have a limited space to carry your stuff.
