Outdoor Look welcomes a family of outdoor clothing reviewers. This is a mum, dad and 12-year-old daughter who enjoy doing family stuff in the great outdoors. They like walking, cycling and fun adventure challenges. Good weather is a bonus, but the Outdoor Look family don't mind a bit of rain, mud or chillier temperatures.

They will be telling you about different types of outdoor clothing and footwear, pointing out the good things, and sometimes the not so good things, when they test the kit in the outdoors.

Little Miss Outdoor Look takes Trespass Flora Ladies Wellington Boots for a test walk in muddy woodland.

The sun was out but the previous few days had been very wet, so a walk in Raincliff Woods, Scarborough, was the ideal location for testing the Trespass wellies.

The expansive woodlands are a favourite destination of friends of the Outdoor Look family, offering lots of waymarked trails, anature trail and the perfect combination of sun-dappled scenes, beautiful trees and a wealth of wildlife, such as butterflies and oodles of ladybirds.

Little Miss OL searched out mud and squelched through it. She looked for streams and splashed about. She walked down steep slopes and up leaves-strewn banks to test the grippiness. She posed a bit, checked the underneath of the boots, adjusted the side strap, thought a little and then walked – and squelched – some more.

Here is her review: “The boots are pretty. Purple is a favourite colour of mine so I liked the look of them as soon as I saw them. Mum reckons it’s not the colour but how practical the boots are that matters, but I think looking good is important, too.

“Anyway, the wellington boots are also practical. They were comfortable enough to walk a few miles in and because they have a strap around the leg that can be adjusted I found they stayed on my feet. This is kind of useful because I have thin legs.

“Walking in mud and water was good fun and my feet stayed dry, just like you’d expect for wellies, really. I also thought that the boots were the right height up my legs, so I didn’t end up with water going over the top. Lucky really!

“Mum got me to test the grippiness and I thought this seemed fine. Even when they bottom of the boots were clogged with mud I didn’t slip over. She did though because she had old trainers on, not wellies like mine!

“I’m really pleased that my feet are a size 5 and mum’s are a size 8. That means she won’t be stealing them off me!”

Little Miss has also been wearing the wellies in the garden and while out walking the family whippet.
She says: "It's great to have a pair of bots I can pull on quickly and head outdoors in the rain. It rains a lot where we live!"

Trespass Ladies Flora Wellington Boots come in sizes 4 to 7, priced £19.12
