In the current economic situation we are all watching every penny, but do we have to break the bank to have the best outdoor clothes if you want to get outdoors and be more active, especially in Get Walking Week. Here at Outdoor Look we don’t think so, but how much would it cost to kit out someone who wants to take the plunge and get outside?

Basically, we need the following kit, boots, baselayer, trousers/shorts, sweatshirt, fleece/waterproof and a rucksack. OK, let’s see what the website could offer me if I wanted to kit myself out.

Lets start with a pair of boots and we have a pair of Hi Tec Kenya Boots at just £29.15 (RRP £60.22). Well that’s a good start. Next the baselayer to add that all important first layer of warmth for the body, and what could be better than the Trespass Thriller Micro Fleece Base Layer Set for just £19.99 (RRP £25.76) which is a top and legging set so that’s a bonus. Trousers or Shorts, well with the British weather I’ve opted for Regatta Inka Trousers for just £16.99 (RRP £37.00), you just can’t argue with that saving. The Sweatshirt I’ve gone for is the Helly Hansen Chester Hoodie for £24.97 (RRP £35.00), smart and practical all in one. Fleece or waterproof, could go either way on this but have chosen the Regatta Sheldon Fleece for just £10.28 (RRP £20.00), and to finish the Regatta Axten 20 Litre Day Pack will keep all my walking essentials safe for just £13.00 (RRP £17.56).

So totally kitted out with some of the best outdoor clothes from the website and I’ve spent just £114.38, a saving of just over £80.00 on the RRP (Recommended Retail Price). Why not try and beat the savings, and see if you can kit yourself out for even less.
