The first and foremost thing that comes while packing for a camping holiday is a camping tent. It is a sole shelter that you have when you camp outside. Therefore, having the right tent is extremely important. There are a few factors that need to be considered before investing in a camping tent.
We are here with an ultimate guide to choose a tent that will make it an easier experience for you
Get Your Hands on Right Tent
Weight- You need to analyse whether you are going for a weekend camping trip or for a long camping trip. If you are planning a caravan camping trip, there is no such problem with the weight of the tent. If you are going to hike in the woods or on the mountains, own a lighter and strong one.
Season- You need to buy a tent according to the season in which you are camping. If you are camping in the summer season, go for a ventilated tent. If you camp in the winter season, go for a tent that is made of wind and water-resistant materials. We’ll recommend buying a four-season tent as it works the best in both the summer and the winter season.
Capacity- Choose the tent according to your height and the number of people who are going to stay in the tent. 2 feet of elbow room are required for a comfortable stay of one person. Consider the company of your kids and pet.
Installation- You need to decide whether you can pitch the tent alone or you’ll need someone’s help. Consider how complicated the pitching is or how it can be easily installed.
Choose the Type of Tent
Backpacking Tent- The packable tents are the most appreciated type of tents by campers. The backpacking tents are designed considering the weight and packing ability.
These tents are known as three-season tents that provide ventilation along with the weather-protection. A tent weighing less than 2 pounds is considered as an ideal tent for backpacking. These type of tents are suitable for countryside camping.
Mountaineering Tent- An additional protection is required when you camp on mountains. You never know when the strong winds are going to hit your tent or snow-fall is going to happen. Therefore, be prepared in advance to survive the harsh weather conditions.
The mountaineering tents are also known as four-season tents. These tents come with additional tent poles and are made of durable materials. They are heavy in weight as compared to other types of tents.
Cabin-Style Tents- These tents are designed with high ceiling and large windows. As they feature big floor area, it is great for family camping as it can accommodate more people.
Dome-Style Tents- These tents are great for weekend camping but are not ideal for long distance hiking. They are lightweight that makes them easy-to-carry. They provide proper shoulder and headroom.
Ultra-light Tents- As the name says, these tents are extremely light in weight. These are ideal for those who don’t want to carry a lot of weight while hiking. These are perfect for long distance hiking. These are very easy to pitch as they can be set using ski or trekking poles.
Consider the above factors and buy the right tent for you to ensure you to have a delightful camping experience.
