Work from home, who could have possibly imagined that this phrase will become a routine for us? Until now, work from home only existed for fashion bloggers, freelancers, or other SMB’s but with the switch happened so quickly, every other person is bound to sit at home and work for hours. But other than this, the working from home scenario brings a lot of joy for us too. Say, no restriction of timings, working in PJ’s, get to spend more time with family, all these things come as a bonus with WFH routine. Where working for home is a relief for many, the others are still struggling. After all, working at home alone when there is no one to talk to, it starts to take its toll suppressing the creativity and pushing you to the feeling of monotony. With each passing day, you find yourself getting bored, unimaginative, the quality of work starts going down, and every next idea seems so dull. In short, you lose your spark!
Luckily, we have compiled some simple, interesting, and creative ways to add a movement and some fresh air to your WFH routine:
STEP OUTDOORS
Sitting facing the four walls of the room and working for hours is not everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you are a wanderer. We know that your working schedules could be extremely hectic making it difficult to find the time for stepping outside. And therefore, making the simple changes in your daily routine can get you a long way. You can try taking a fresh and breezy morning walk or have a lunch break in your backyard or garden for a change. It helps you to deal with your anxiety and stress levels. In the beginning, it might seem a little out of the way, but as soon as you try to get involved in it more, it will become hard for you to turn back.
LAUGH OUT LOUD
We all heard it! Happiness is something that comes from within, all we have to do is to find the correct ways. If you are feeling stressed and stuck working every day, take time to laugh out loud. It might seem crazy and unrealistic, but believe us; this will do you some good. Anything that works for you to get that pretty smile on your face, do it without hesitation! Either call your best friend you haven't spoken to in months or turn on NETFLIX to watch your favourite comedy show.
SAY HELLO TO CREATIVITY
When your work starts to appear in front of your eyes, it is a sign that you must take a break and indulge yourself into some more fulfilling activity. Colouring and sketching have always been the most creative way to throw all your moods on the canvas. Take 20 or 30 minutes a day and take up your long-lost hobby of painting. It not only removes your anxiety but also revives your creativity to another level. Meaning, aren’t you bored of moving your fingers only on the keyboard? Try to move it around the colours and get your hands dirty to keep your mind clean.
MEDITATION
What if you can relax your mind without even moving from your place? It sounds interesting, right? If you are the one who takes a high road about stressing and feeling obnoxious every time, meditation is your key to happiness. By far, the best way to relax your body and mind, meditation is as important for mental fitness as exercise is for physical. It is a simple act of closing your eyes in a quiet surrounding and feeling every ounce of your breathing. Concentrate on your stress leaving the body and see the difference within weeks. If you are an amateur, you can find online tutorials to get going!
SWEAT IT OUT
Consider using your free time to indulge yourself in exercise. Most probably, it is the toughest thing to do but it guarantees your overall mental and physical well-being. For beginners, including exercising in the daily routine proved to be extremely helpful to keep you healthy, positive, and light on the feet. If you always have been the runner, try taking your fitness level a notch-higher to come back even stronger. From Pilates, Yoga to simply moving your body on your favourite track, do anything that keeps you physically fit and mentally strong!
We know working from home can be boring and stressful at times but you have to knock that monotonous routine and find some time for yourself to feel better. Take a day off, catch up on your sleep in between, or get your hands on a personal project you left years ago to boost some creativity in your head! Hope this helped you gain a little perspective and we will be more than happy to hear your experience! Good Luck!
