Buxton Spa Town

Peak Rail

Peak Rail provides users with the chance to experience a four mile ride on either a steam or diesel powered train. The four mile journey takes you between Rowsley South and Matlock Platform 2. Peak Rail is only open until November 2016, so make sure to take advantage of the warm weather whilst you can!

Bolsover Castle

If you’re looking for an activity to entertain the whole family, take a trip to Bolsover Castle! Located in Derbyshire, there are some truly stunning views over the surrounding area. Some of the primary things to do and places to visit include:

  • Little Castle – the home of Sir William Cavendish.
  • Terrace Range – the former entrance to Bolsover Castle.
  • Fountain Garden – home to a statue of the goddess of love; Venus. Also included in the garden are over 5,000 plants and flowers.
  • Wall Walk – Bolsover Castle’s wall walk provides you with stunning countryside views.

Pavilion Gardens

In the centre of Buxton lies Pavilion Gardens, a beautiful collection of gardens spanning more than twenty-three acres of space.

Stunning scenery isn’t the only thing that you’ll find here, however. In 2016 alone, Pavilion Gardens is hosting over one hundred events, including Farmers Markets, Food & Drink Festivals, Artist & Designer Shows as well as Craft and Jewellery & Garden Plant shows. Fun for the whole family!

National Brewery Centre

If you enjoy a good pint of beer and have an interest in history – then the National Brewery Centre is certainly a place that you should visit! Located in Burton upon Trent, here you can find out all about the ‘History, Art and Fun of Brewing’.

As well as discovering all there is to know about the process and progression of brewing, you can even try out a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and enjoy a delicious meal at the Brewery Tap Bar and Restaurant.

They also run at least one event per month with the next one being a festival in celebration of the fashion, music and cars of the 1940’s. There’s also an Ale and Jazz Festival scheduled for a weekend in July and a Bruce Springsteen tribute night in August.
